SHIKO

Shiko is a vibrant and original band from Chelyabinsk, Russia, performing music at the crossroads of Latin, jazz, and acoustic fusion. The group was founded in the summer of 2000 by two guitarist – Igor Petrov and Sergey Usoltsev – united by their passion for Latin American music.
The band quickly gained recognition, becoming a laureate and award-winner at numerous national and international jazz competitions and festivals, including What a Wonderful World, I’m from Jazz, Jazz Beau Monde, Musical Sary-Arka, Moscow-Yalta-Transit, and many others.
With a repertoire based on fiery Latin American rhythms, modern guitar melodies in original interpretation, and their own compositions, Shiko has become highly sought-after, touring extensively across Russian cities and abroad.
Every Shiko performance is a celebration of live sound, rhythm, improvisation, and energy.
The band features some of the leading jazz musicians from Chelyabinsk. Alongside the founding guitarists, various talented artists have played in the group at different times, including Igor Boriskin, Stas Bernstein, Viktor Rikker, Konstantin Shcheglov, Vasily Podlesny, Yuri Kobzyuk, Enda Frumkin, Denis Pyatkov, and many others.
